How to Store Peach Juice
After making these delicious peach juice recipes, you might wonder how to store it properly.
Fridge Storage
You can store peach juice in the fridge (in a sealed container) if you plan on drinking it within the next two days.
Also, if your fridge is stuffed with things like mine, you can label the container with the date you made it to remind yourself to drink it.
Note: Unlike store-bought juices that are loaded with preservatives, fresh juices are free from any chemicals. So, it’s best to have them within a few days to avoid them getting spoilt.
However, most of the juice recipes above ask for lemon juice, which acts as a natural preservative.
Freezer Storage
You can freeze your peach juice if you want to keep it for more than two days. Leave some room at the top of the container for expansion.
Thaw it in the fridge overnight when you’re ready to drink it.
Remember, freezing can change the texture and taste of the juice, so it will not be as fresh as it was when first made.
Preservatives
Add natural preservatives like lemon juice, citric acid, ascorbic acid, or honey to extend the shelf life of your peach juice.
Peach Juice FAQS
Do I Need to Peel a Peach Before Juicing?
It’s best to peel the peaches before juicing, as the skin can affect the taste and texture of the juice. You can use a peeler or make an “X” at the bottom of each peach and then blanch them for about 30 seconds. Next, transfer them to an ice bath — the skin should come off easily.
Is Peach Good for the Stomach?
Peaches are great for the stomach, as they’re a good source of fiber and aid digestion. They also contain antioxidants that can reduce inflammation in the digestive tract.
How Long Does Peach Juice Last?
Fresh peach juice is highly perishable. Therefore, you should have it soon after juicing for maximum flavor and nutritional benefits.
If stored in the fridge, fresh peach juice can last up to 2-3 days. However, the quality of the juice may deteriorate after the first day.
To extend the shelf life of your peach juice, freeze it in an airtight container for up to 6 months. When ready to use, simply thaw the juice in the fridge and give it a good stir before drinking.
Can You Drink Peach Juice on an Empty Stomach?
You can drink peach juice on an empty stomach. But it’s best to drink it in moderation, as too much fruit juice on an empty stomach can lead to a spike in blood sugar levels. There’s also the risk of constipation or diarrhea.
Can You Make Peach Juice in a Juicer Instead of a Blender?
You can make peach juice in a juicer instead of a blender. But with juicing, the pulp is separated from the juice, so you’ll lose out on some of the fiber and other nutrients that are in the fruit. You might also not get as much juice out of the peach when using a juicer.
Therefore, it’s best to go with a blender or food processor.
Final Thoughts
Peach juice is a great and healthy alternative to the sugary sodas that we’re so easily tempted towards. And now that you’ve learned how to make it, you can enjoy this nutritious drink anytime you want.
